Aluminium planter brightens your day

Lappset is introducing Nova, a planter made out of solid cast aluminium. The unique, timeless but still trendy shape makes the planter unusually visible in the street scene.

Products designed for the urban space must endure for many years. It is therefore important to use a timeless design language. Even if Nova was inspired by classics from design history the planter has an expression of its own, a circular triangular expression, as it is described by the design firm LOTS. The firm also designed the well received park bench Neo for Lappset.

– Nova is a development of the shape of our park bench Neo and the two fit very well together in the park or in the street, says Sara Eklund, marketing manager at Lappset.

– It is obvious that the design was created with the end user in mind. We have designed a planter that is both light and durable in comparison with competing designs on the market.

Nova is made out of solid cast aluminium and has a dividing line on each side that visualize a feeling of ascension in the observer. The choice of aluminium as build material also gives Nova a certain lustre.

– The planter is dynamic but also very stable, says Sara Eklund.

– Nova is lighter than competing designs in concrete or cast iron. It is also durable and can be lifted with a pallet lifter.

The planter holds a volume of 260 litres and weighs 88 kilograms.
